Cole used a good word yesterday when describing his Eagle Scout paper work: tedious. That's how I feel about the trim right now....tedious. BUT WOW! Just look at the difference:
BEFORE
AFTER
I am so pleased with the results--it looks better than I imagined! I took the picture this morning and it was overcast so I don't think that the colors shine as brilliantly as I see them. But I love how it has turned out. Boy, oh boy is it ever a lot of hand work with the white...
Today I started working on the windows on the north side of the house. I will take an after picture because those windows are going to "POP" on the green. Can't wait!
Saturday we came close to finishing the south facing wall:
I have lots of weird places left....like next to rock....Up a corner and under the soffits....
Brent got up on the roof and tried to reach the white trim under the soffits. You can see the beginning on the right. We have to figure out a plan B, the roof access didn't work. (It's way to high for our ladders to reach)
More trim next to rock (yep, tedious trim....)
I still haven't figure out under the deck yet. There are some gaps so I don't know if I want to foam and then use a silicone sealant. Don't know yet...
A view of my daily uniform...
This little plot of ground makes me happy. This is the beginning of PERFECT dirt. All summer I have been composting in this patch. When it comes time for planting we will have very happy plants in this spot.
We are so excited to celebrate our first holidays in our new home! So happy, so grateful!
Lisa, it looks beautiful! I still need to come by and see all of your handiwork. I have just an inkling of the tedium, having painted lots of indoor trim myself this past June. The beauty of it will last for years - I am so glad it makes you smile!
