DAY 134: Cement Between Main Floor ICF

We did it!  The concrete is now in between the walls on the main level.  Whew.  It was a 10 hour day but it's done! First we finished bracing.  Blaine wanted to put in more braces by the big doors and big windows.
Next, time to straighten walls.  This was done by matching the walls to a string stretched out on top.  The green braces screw in and out to move the walls.
I spotted the pump truck.  YAY! Then I saw the cement truck through the front door....
Pour started.  We went through 3 truck loads of cement.  It took a little more than two hours to get the walls filled.
Blaine guided the cement. Brady and Steve put the vibrator through the walls.
I was in the basement for the majority of the pour.  I was watching walls and for good reason.  We were particularly concerned about a fragile corner.  It held up well.  I was watching another part of the house when I heard crashing.  The cement came down through Cole's closet.  In the middle left and middle right of the photo you can see where we stuffed in more foam.  It held up fine.  But I had to haul out a few buckets full of cement.
Cole was out of school early today and I picked him up just after the pour.  The top of the cement was finished by Blaine and Steve while Brady, Cole and I put in the J Bolts. The cement was setting up quickly so it was harder to do closer to the end.
Cole and I had to clean and clean and clean.  This is a window ledge full of cement.
The pump truck dumped a lot of concrete so Cole worked on breaking that up so we wouldn't have to bring back a back hoe or sledge hammer.  (It was about 10 inches deep in places).
We did have a "blow out".  You can see the foam pulling out on the upper right of this photo.  Later we will have to cut off the foam and sand down the concrete.  A zip tie broke when the vibrator hit it.
The basement needs a bit of cleaning after lots and lots of styrofoam cutting.
